In recent years, I've mainly been working on my own solo material.

My name is fairly common, so just for clarification here are some other J. Whitneys:
John Whitney Sr. (one of the great fathers of computer animation);
Johnny Whitney (from The Blood Brothers);
Jon Whitney (music critic/web designer and lead creator of the excellent brainwashed.com).
My name was anglicized (from Wittine) when my ancestors came to the U.S.
They plausibly immigrated from Austria. Anyway, I'm almost certainly
not related to the more prominent Whitney family from England. No relation to Eli either.
